We've put a lot of effort into making this website informative, entertaining, and easy to use.  Here are just a few things you may want to know to help you get the most out of the site.

General Site Design

This website was designed to be viewed on a monitor with 1024 x 768 or higher resolution.  If you can't see the entire page on your screen, you are probably running a lower resolution.  To change your monitor's resolution, you typically right-click on your desktop, click on Properties, and then Settings.

Additionally, the site is designed for Internet Explorer 7 or above, and Firefox browsers.  If you are running an older version of Internet Explorer, you will not be able to access the flyout menus (which are identified in the menu to the left on every page with "-------->" beside them.

We recommend you upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or above, or use Firefox as your browser, as we do not foresee providing support for the outdated browser.

Photo Galleries

The Photo Galleries have some neat features that you may not be aware of.  After you click on one of the links for a photo gallery, a separate window pops up with a background image.  Then, you must select which particular gallery you wish to view by clicking on one of the controls to the right of the image. 

Once you do this, a set of thumbnails comes up at the bottom of the background image.  Depending on your monitor resolution, you may have to scroll down just a little bit.  Once you see the thumbnails, you can put your mouse over any of them, and the thumbnail image becomes a bit larger.  If you click on one of the thumbnails, the larger image will come up.  Then, if you use the >> or the << controls, the frames will advance or go back one frame at a time.

To make the slide show start, simply click on the > button AFTER you've selected a gallery and see the thumbnails below the background image.  Play with it a little!  There are a lot of great pictures there!

• Allowing Scripts and/or Active X Controls:
  • In order to view certain elements of the website, including the live river cam footage, photo galleries, and flash elements, your browser may ask you for permission to run scripts and/or Active X controls.  To view these elements, you must allow the controls to run.  To keep from having to answer the security prompt each time you view the site, you can add our domain, www.hisplaceresort.net, to your list of trusted sites in your browser.
• Hyperlink Behavior:
  • Links in the pages follow a simple rule...  If the link is to another page in the website, it will open in the same browser window you're currently viewing.  If the link goes to another site, a separate window will open up.  (This makes for overall easier navigation, and you won't be waiting for page reloads to return to our site, you can just simply close the window.)  The exceptions to this rule are for the Photo Galleries, and for the Live River Cam, as it makes for a more enjoyable internet experience to be able to move these windows around, keep them running in the background, etc.
• Known Issues --
  • Depending on your browser, the right edge of the Flyout menus may appear under the videos on the video page

Privacy Policy

Photos:  We respect your privacy.  We have done our best to remove any personally identifiable info attached to photos, such as names, etc., either in the filename itself or in hidden properties attached to the photos that are not readily visible.  Additionally, the customer testimonials do not include last names for the same purpose.

To the best of our knowledge, we've obtained verbal and/or written permission for every single photo with an identifiable facial image on this website, including the Photo Galleries.  Many of you have been waiting for some time for us to get these photos up!  However, if for some reason we have a photo posted that you would prefer we do not use, please just let us know and we will take it down immediately.

Using our pictures:  All pictures are property of His Place Resort.  If you want to use one of them, we may be able to work something out, just please don't take without asking, as many pictures were given to us to use, and depending on the picture, I may have to ask the person who provided it for their permission.
